Kris Lyons: Bunch

Kris Lyons draws directly from a library of found materials that she uses as molds for the objects she creates in clay. The piece might resemble a tea pot or in this exhibit a bouquet, but be made from a totally unrelated pattern found in the packaging for a tool or utensil. Isn’t this the height of ‘beauty is in the eye of the beholder’? Yes and they are beautiful, with a sense of whimsy, too. Lyons did her BA at Alfred (is that where they met?) and her MFA at the University of Washington in Seattle.
