Penny Olson’s work first begins with photographs whose content stems from the everyday and the natural world. She takes these images and then re processes, deconstructs & then re constructs them into moments of pattern and color fields that stand alone with their origins completely left behind. The camera is the catalyst by which Olson finds the human energy that emanates from behind the lens.
Olson received her MFA from UCLA. She has shown extensively both nationally and internationally. Her work belongs to many private and public collections, including Neiman Marcus, Kaiser Permanente & The Muyogi Museum of Art in Takasaki Japan.
