This Spring, JAYJAY is featuring two floral inspired artists; paintings by Mary Warner and ceramic sculpture by Kris Lyons.

Kris Lyons slip casts a variety of found objects and skillfully disguises their origins to form enigmatic sculptures that are both playful and thought provoking. Collaged with enamel paint and nylon flocking, these sculptures possess a floral flavor. When viewing Lyons’ clay sculptures, associations of pots and pottery never enter the mind. They are elevated pieces that materialize into imaginative hybrids resembling sci-fi gadgets, children’s toys, or floral bouquets. Lyons received her BA at Alfred and her MFA at the University of Washington in Seattle.
